School of Natural Resources alumna Ann Koenig reaches international level of competitive tree climbing
Published July 2008
Story Source: Christine Tew
School of Natural Resources alumna Ann Koenig brings work home more often than not. Since graduating with a degree in forestry, she has spent more than ten years with the Missouri Department of Conservation.
More recently, she has taken up competitive tree climbing, even bringing her arborist skills home to practice in her Columbia neighborhood.
In less than three years, Koenig has gone from a novice climber to the international level. The 2008 International Tree Climbing Championship in St. Louis on July 26 and 27 will be her second international competition.
Along the way, she's gotten attention from local newspapers and television stations.
