Dr. C. Randy Vessell Scholarship

This scholarship can be applied in Fall semester, and the scholarship recipient shall receive their award in the Spring semester. Eligible PRT Junior, Senior or Graduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or more may apply for this award. Appropriate students will demonstrate ambition and passion for the field of parks, recreation, tourism and sport. This is a financial need based scholarship. The award package for this scholarship is from $1200-$1500.

Missouri Parks and Recreation Trust Scholarships (MPR Trust)

These scholarships can be applied in Fall semester, and the scholarship recipients shall receive their awards in the Spring semester. Eligible PRT Junior, Senior and Graduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or more may apply for these awards. The students should be enrolled full-time for the fall semester of the scholarship year as a junior, senior or a graduate student. Students also are required to attend the MPRA conference as a requirement to fulfill their scholarship agreement. The award package for this scholarship is from $150-$1000 drawing from a pool of over $6,000. Students applying for this scholarship must commit to attending the MPRA conference. Awards may equal the cost of attendance. All registration fees are included.

Department of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Sport Scholarships

These scholarships can be applied in Fall semester, and the scholarship recipients shall receive their award in the Spring semester. Eligible PRT undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or more may apply for these awards. These awards are based on academic achievement. The award package for this scholarship is from $250-$500 drawing from a pool of approximately $1,500 per year.

Jeff Wasson Professional Development

This scholarship can be applied in Fall semester, and the scholarship recipient shall receive their award in the Spring semester. Eligible PRT undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or more may apply for this award. This award is based on academic achievement, and encourages professional development in the field of parks, recreation, tourism and sport. The award package for this scholarship is $2500. This is a professional development scholarship and is not awarded in one lump sum, but rather draw upon to fund conference attendance and other professional development activities prior to graduation. It can be used across several years until it is depleted.

To be eligible for the Jeff Wasson Professional Development Scholarship, students will have to apply to the department of parks, recreation and tourism scholarship. The eligible candidate will be picked from that pool of candidates.
